the best part of waking up

I got up with my early alarm today really wondering if I should turn it off and roll over. It’s Saturday after all. But I stayed up, took a shower and headed to the kitchen where I finished up a French Silk Pie (putting the whipped cream on, not eating it!), put away dishes, made coffee and put some pre-made scones in the oven. All before 6:15 this was done, which gave me a chance to do some reading (knocked out Perspectives, week 1, woo), drink coffee, and now knitting. The first couple minutes of consciousness are the hardest, but beyond them I am glad to have had the morning.
